The Universe Builders- Bernie and the Putty – Review

We have all heard of the fabled perfect being, the Greek God.

Well, how about a geek god? Named Bernie, yet.

Fresh with his diploma from God School, determined but unsure, bright but without confidence, Bernie faces the challenge of building his own universe. If only it were that easy…

An old school rival will do whatever it takes to ensure Bernie’s failure, even if it means destroying his world.

It’s god vs. god, guile vs. goodness, where only one of them plays by the rules. Bernie must find a way to outwit his evil foe. If he fails, it will cost him everything.

A fascinating tale of good vs. evil and a young hero on a journey of self-discovery in an original, humorous, fantastic wrapper.

Praise for The Universe Builders:

“…had me hooked from start to finish…I couldn’t put it down.”

“This book was fantastic! I was riveted, wanting to know what was going to happen to Bernie.”

“…weird, crazy characters that will tickle your funny bone and, at times, tug at your heartstrings.”

“…a fascinating tale of good vs. evil and of a young hero on a journey of self-discovery.”

“…a mind-bending journey…and a great start to a series.”

“Everybody loves an underdog story, and I’m no different.”

“This book was just wonderful!”

A very different kind of read for me. I really enjoyed this book. you have a bunch of God’s building universes but  inparticularly  two who the book focuses on.
kind of a evil verses good story.
very intriguing, fascinating, enjoyable.
you have you main character Bernie, a young god who graduates from builders school. he’s kind of odd but in a good way. Then you have his enemy Billy who is out to destroy him when he lands a job at The Business.
Billy will do anything, go to any length to get Bernie Fired , can poor sweet Bernie survive his torture?
All because Billy holds a huge grudge against Bernie for scaring him permanently for embarrassing his friend Suzie in school. which really wasn’t Bernies fault, his cloud went out of control.
This story is very cool actually, the universe building g is a great idea, concept, that has you thinking.
I say it’s a must read. especially if your in the mood for something different or if this is just you kind of book. I think it’s great for all ages, teen to adult.
your find you get attached to Bernie, Lenny and Suzie and despise Billy for his cruelty.

Billy is just cruel, he has destroyed a lot of peoples lives and had them fired from the business because he didn’t like them. Now he is on a mission to destroy Bernie’s career before he really gets started. He does evil thing to his universe but Bernie doesn’t tell anyone but his friends Lenny and Suzie. Then one of Billy so called friends ends up liking Lenny and tell them what Billy has been doing but they are so afraid of Billy getting them fired they will not tell the boss. Billy being the nephew of the boss makes them all belive that him and his uncle are really close but in reality his uncle could care less.

when it gets really out of control and  Bernie is about to lose his job Suzie talks her boss into letting the counsel of gods check out Bernies universe and if he wins a award he get to stay. This is a possible defeat for Bernie with Billy destroying everything he does. He has even put traps in his cubicle to get Billy sick and make him stay away. He finds ways around allt his after he figures out what Bernie has done. does he get caught finally? can Bernie build the perfect , unique universe the gods are looking for to save his job? after all his father has won three awards in his life which is unknown to the world they live in for a god to ever accomplish winning three awards on building universes. which brings another question up, was its Bernie’s mother who helped him with all of his ideas to build these universes? that was one unanswered question in  this book I would like to know. It kind of leads you to think and believe that but never really tell you.

I don’t know if there is a second book coming out  to this book because the ending doesn’t lead you to believe there is but I’m sure it can be done. Bernie is quite the interesting character that will grow on you. And I would also like ot know if he finally gets over his blindness towards Suzie just being a friend when she clearly has always wanted more then that. it seems he is wrming up to the idea t the end but I would like to know the true outcome.
I was given  this book for a honest review.
